Lyme Protest Meeting - May 7, 2008 ~11 AM - 2 PM
at Congressman Pallone’s office in Long Branch, NJ

The Lyme bill, HR 741, is being held up in committee in congress. Congressman Frank Pallone, NJ, is Chairman of the House Health subcommittee and only he can get this bill out for a vote. As a result, the Lyme Rights group is planning a Lyme Protest at Congressman Pallone’s office to show him we are serious about needing this bill to be passed.   Link to Lyme Rights Web Site for details =>

Controversy on Treatment of Lyme Disease:
Patients with persistent symptoms after standard antibiotic therapy ( a 2–4 week period recommended by the IDSA) for Lyme disease have been denied further antibiotic treatment as a result of the assertion by the IDSA that long-term infection is rare or nonexistent. This growing controversy regarding the diagnosis and treatment of Lyme disease is driven by the restrictive conditions imposed on physicians and their patients by the IDSA treatment guidelines.
