Richard Horowitz, MD
Dr. Richard Horowitz is a board-certified MD. specializing in Internal Medicine. Dr. Horowitz and his wife, Lee, founded the Hudson Valley Healing Arts Center in Hyde Park, New York, an integrative medical center where complementary modalities are blended with western medicine for a total approach to health and wellness.
Dr. Horowitz is also known for his pioneering work with Lyme disease, as his center has treated over 3,000 patients for tick-borne diseases over the past 14 years.
He has been a practicing Buddhist for the past 20 years and is honored to be the doctor at Kagyu Thubten Chling Monastery in Wappingers Falls, New York, since moving to the Hudson Valley.
Dr. Horowitz also serves on the Board of Directors of the The Nangchen Yushu Educational and Medical Association (NYEMA, the Tibetan word for the sun) Projects, Inc. NYEMA founded in 1997 by the Venerable Lama Norlha and Dr. Pema Dorje to establish basic educational and medical resources in their native homeland, Nangchen, Tibet.
The mission of NYEMA Projects, Inc. is to help the impoverished people of the Nangchen region raise their standard of living by providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary to prevail in the modern, global world without sacrificing their unique cultural heritage.
