ATTENTION ALL! IMPORTANT LYME LEGISLATION
for Federal Lyme Legislation click here.

Now that the bill has passed the PA House, the PA Senate is next.  BUT this part of the two year session has recessed.  When the session starts up again, updated information will be posted here.  Then, the information below will be relevant again.  You can still contact your state senator now to alert him/her that you’ll be pressing for passage of the bill when the session reopens.

WHO: All people (especially Pennsylvania residents & physicians)

WHAT: A letter re: PA House Bill 1534. See full text click here   Go=>

WHERE: Fax to: your state senator to support HB 1534 when it comes to the senate, probably under a new number IF it gets out of the Banking and Insurance Committee.

WHEN: As soon as we know when  PA HB 1534 reaches the PA Senate.

WHY: The bill will be coming up for discussion/vote soon, we hope.  Last year this bill was killed in the senate Banking and Insurance committee.  This year we need to work to get the bill out of the same committee. It is critical to get senate support for this bill. The bill will provide protection for physicians who treat Lyme patients long-term with antibiotic therapy. Additionally, it provides for insurance coverage for Lyme & related tick-borne diseases if the treatment plan is documented in the patient’s medical record.

You can help!

How?  By contacting your local state senator by telephone, e-mail or in a written letter asking for direct support of the bill HR 1534 when it comes to the senate.

Urge your senator to sign on to support the bill.

We prefer original letters, but if you cannot write a letter, use the following template.

Note: Members of the LDASEPA helped write the language in the bill to do as much as possible to support patients and doctors.  We need your help to get it adopted.
